Process
I help people build new products and use data. Here’s what a typical path forward would look like for a solo indie project with me:
-
1. Project Worksheet
If you submit an inquiry for an independent project, I’ll reply with a Project Worksheet: What would you like to work on together? Do you anticipate this will be a short or long-term project? What’s your budget? How specific or exploratory is your quest?
-
2. Initial Meeting
We’ll meet to clarify your interests, goals, budget, and timeline.
-
3. Contract
We’ll execute a written contract detailing scope, fees, confidentiality, and intellectual-property.
-
4. Setup
This may include acquiring credentials to access your data, retrieving the data, and/or a site-visit.
If I’m analyzing data for you, this will include a rigorous evaluation of its quality. -
5. Execution
We’ll meet at regular intervals to discuss progress. I’ll send updates along the way as milestones are achieved.
-
6. Delivery
This is often publication-quality visuals, explanatory text, and a GitHub repository of code that is or that reveals the thing you want.
